The National Weather Service in Jacksonville has issued a

* Flood Advisory for...
northern Jeff Davis County in southeastern Georgia...
Appling County in southeastern Georgia...
northwestern Wayne County in southeastern Georgia...

* until 900 PM EDT

* at 706 PM EDT... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause minor flooding in the advisory area.
Up to two inches of rain have already fallen.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Baxley... Hazlehurst... Graham... Surrency... plant Hatch... Odum and
Pine Grove.

Coffee counties until 830 PM EDT...

At 731 PM EDT... Doppler radar was tracking a line of strong
thunderstorms along a line extending from near Snipesville to near
Screven... and moving southwest at 10 mph.

Gusty winds of 35 to 50 mph can be expected along with possible
minor wind damage.

Locations impacted include...
Jesup... Baxley... Hazlehurst... Alma... Graham... Surrency... Screven...
Odum... Snipesville... Pridgen... Denton and New Lacy.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...
report damage to the nearest law enforcement agency or your County
emergency management.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms... and may
lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 15 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

At Jacksonville International Airport...

Temperatures... the average temperature for July was 82.7 degrees
which was 0.4 degrees above normal. The average daily high was 92.8
degrees and the average daily low was 72.5 degrees. The maximum
temperature for the month was 98 degrees on the 12th and the minimum
for the month was 67 degrees on the 6th. We had 24 straight day of
tempertures 90 degres or warmer... the 18th ever recorded. No records
were set this month at Jacksonville.

Rainfall... there were 10 days of measurable rainfall in July at
Jacksonville International Airport. Monthly rainfall totaled 3.79
inches... 2.76 inches below normal. The greatest 24 hour total was
1.07 inches on the 7th. No precipitation records were set in the
month of July.

Wind... the average wind speed for July was 6.1 miles per hour. The
peak wind gust for the month was 45 miles per hour from the west on
the 22nd.

For energy consumption purposes... there were 0 heating degree
days... which is normal. There were 556 cooling degree days... which
is 20 above normal.

August outlook... the temperature outlook is for a greater chance of
above normal temperatures. The precipitation outlook shows equal
chances to see above or below normal precipitation in August. The
