Survey summary: NWS and Franklin County (tn) Ema survey team determined the damage
from the Mar. 21 storms were from straight line winds, estimated at 80 mph.

While widespread tree damage was observed across Lincoln, parts of Moore, and Franklin
counties, the peak of damage appeared across an area that affected the
Crystal Ridge area (southeast of mulberry), southern Moore County (south of
Preston ridge), Old Salem area (north of huntland), and the Cedar Ridge
area (south of belvidere). The bulk of damage indicators came from
soft wood trees that were either uprooted or had damaged large limbs.
The orientation of the damage was consistently in a NE to ENE direction
from the Crystal Ridge ridge through the Cedar Ridge area. Radar did indicate
a strong surge from the southwest wrapping around the broadening rotation of the parent
cell.

... Storm survey planned today in Franklin County Tennessee...

The National Weather Service in Huntsville will be dispatching a
storm survey team to Franklin County in Tennessee in the Huntland
area. The team will be assessing thunderstorm wind damage from
tuesday's severe thunderstorms.

A major contribution to the Success of our severe weather warning
program is the receipt of storm reports from all our customers
and partners across northern Alabama and southern middle
Tennessee. If you witnessed or are aware of any storm damage,
please contact the National Weather Service in Huntsville or your
local emergency management agency.
