... The Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 1145 PM MDT for
north central Washington... northeastern Morgan and southwestern Logan
counties...

At 1021 PM MDT... a thunderstorm producing heavy rain was located near
Merino... or 13 miles south of Sterling... and is stationary. Flash
flooding is expected to continue in the area.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Merino... Atwood... Prewitt Reservoir... Logan corners and Willard.

Radar indicates up to 4 inches of rain has fallen in the warning
area. Moderate rain is expected to continue to fall for another two
hours.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams... country roads... as well as farmland as well as
other drainage areas and low lying spots.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of central Colorado... east central Colorado... north
central Colorado and northeast Colorado... including the
following areas... in central Colorado... central and Southeast
Park County... Jefferson and west Douglas counties above 6000
feet/Gilpin/Clear Creek/Northeast Park counties below 9000
feet and south and southeast grand/west central and southwest
Boulder/Gilpin/Clear Creek/Summit/north and West Park counties
above 9000 feet. In east central Colorado... north and
northeast Elbert County below 6000 feet/North Lincoln County
and southeast Elbert County below 6000 feet/South Lincoln
County. In north central Colorado... Larimer County below 6000
feet/northwest Weld County... Larimer and Boulder counties
between 6000 and 9000 feet and south and East
Jackson/Larimer/north and northeast grand/northwest Boulder
counties above 9000 feet. In northeast Colorado... Boulder and
Jefferson counties below 6000 feet/west Broomfield County...

* Through Wednesday afternoon

* widespread showers and a few thunderstorms may produce
additional rain amounts from one half inch to one inch
overnight. Another round of showers and a few thunderstorms is
expected on Wednesday which may lead to some additonal heavy
rainfall.

* Flash flooding of low lying areas... creeks and streams may occur
in a few locations again on Wednesday. Rock and mud slides will
be possible in the foothills. If you live in flood prone areas
or will be traveling... stay alert to the latest warnings and be
prepared for rapidly rising water levels.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
Be prepared to evacuate low lying areas and move to higher ground
should flooding develop or a warning be issued. Be aware of the
flooding danger today... stay out of flooded areas and do not
drive on flooded roads.

Akron... Otis... Hillrose... Last Chance... Woodrow... midway... Gary...
Platner... Snyder... Burdett... Lone Star... Elba... woodlin school and
Lindon.

* Northeast Washington County has already seen up to 3 inches of
rain... so additional rain is likely to cause lowland flooding.
