Flood Warning, Areal Flood Warning

The Flood Warning continues for
the Wabash River at Lafayette.
* Until late Wednesday night.
* At 10:45 PM Saturday the stage was 13.4 feet.
* Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will rise above flood stage late this evening
and be near 13 feet 7 am Sunday morning.
* At 18.0 feet... extensive flooding covers many acres of agricultural
land. State Road 225 closed by high water. Granville bridge public
access site flooded. Tippecanoe CR 950 W south of CR 75 S floods in
several places from the Wabash bottoms, janssen tract to Warren CR
350 N in the Black Rock preserve area, a distance of nearly 1.5
miles. High water affects fort ouiatenon area. All Parks in the
West Lafayette and Lafayette areas are flooded. High water almost
on North River Road.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Wabash River at Covington.
* From Sunday morning to late Thursday night.
* At 10:45 PM Saturday the stage was 13.1 feet.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising and rise above flood
stage by early Sunday afternoon. The river should crest on Monday
around 20 feet.
* At 20.5 feet... Williamsport Road may begin to flood in Fountain
County.

* until 815 am EST Sunday

* at 1041 PM EST, reporting gauges indicate flooding continues
across the warned area. Up to three inches of rain fell
across the area earlier.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Lafayette, Kokomo, West Lafayette, Williamsport, Attica, Greentown,
Flora, Rossville, Shadeland, Dayton, Battle Ground, Converse,
Mulberry, Russiaville, West Lebanon, Burlington, Pine Village,
state line city, purdue University and Pence.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

.Overview... A strong cold front swept east across central Indiana
Saturday and interacted with an unstable atmosphere. A line of
storms developed, and a brief tornado resulted over east central
Tippecanoe County just northeast of Dayton.

Survey summary: siding was ripped off a corner of a home and
pieces of unknown debris were thrown across a field as a tornado
moved northeast over east central Tippecanoe County. The tornado
tore several Tree Tops down, including half of an Evergreen tree,
where branches were ripped off the tree. Some debris was seen
across the street from a house on the corner of 200s and 900e. No
damage to this home was seen.

tornadoes into the following categories.
