... The Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 1100 PM EDT for
Taylor and Casey counties...

At 756 PM EDT, local law enforcement reported widespread flash
flooding in Taylor County. Over two inches of rain have already
fallen. Flash flooding is already occurring.

This is a flash flood emergency for Taylor and Casey counties. This
is a particularly dangerous situation. Seek higher ground now!

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Liberty, Campbellsville, Mintonville, Lawhorn Hill, Teddy, Gilpin,
Arista, South Campbellsville, Evans Ford and Mannsville.

Additional rainfall amounts in excess of 2 inches are possible in
the warned area.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Move to higher ground now. This is an extremely dangerous and
life-threatening situation. Do not attempt to travel unless you are
fleeing an area subject to flooding or under an evacuation order.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

southeastern Taylor County in central Kentucky...
Cumberland County in south central Kentucky...
southwestern Casey County in central Kentucky...
Metcalfe County in south central Kentucky...

* at 833 PM EDT/733 PM CDT/, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due
to thunderstorms. This may cause minor flooding in the advisory
area. Up to two inches of rain have already fallen.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Columbia, Tompkinsville, Albany, Jamestown, Edmonton, Burkesville,
Leslie, Russell Springs, Gamaliel and Pickett.

Additional rainfall of one to two inches is expected over the area.
This additional rain may result in minor flooding... and a Flash
Flood Warning may be necessary should the heaviest rains continue
over portions of the advisory area.

* Through Sunday evening

* 1 to locally 3+ inches of rain is expected to fall from multiple
rounds of thunderstorms early through late Sunday evening.


* Areas that see repeated thunderstorm activity, and locations
that have seen excessive rainfall over the past couple of
weeks will be most at risk, along with urban areas and the
normal flood prone locations.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
