The Flood Warning continues for
the Calcasieu River near Oberlin.
* From Thursday afternoon until further notice... or until the warning
is cancelled.
* At 8:00 PM Saturday the stage was 7.4 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 13.0 feet.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by Thursday afternoon and
continue to rise to near 15.5 feet by Sunday morning.
* Impact... at stages near 15.0 feet... moderate flooding will occur
with several access roads to the river flooded.
* Impact... at stages near 13.0 feet... minor lowland flooding near
the river will occur.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Calcasieu River near Oakdale.
* From late Wednesday night until further notice... or until the
warning is cancelled.
* At 10:00 am Saturday the stage was 4.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by early Thursday morning and
continue to rise to near 14.0 feet by Friday morning.
* Impact... at stages near 14.0 feet... low secondary roads near the
river begin to flood. Several houses in close proximity to the
river are subject to flooding.
* Impact... at stages near 12.0 feet... minor lowland flooding, mainly
forested areas along the river will occur. Park and picnic ground
off of Highway 10 begins to flood.

the whisky chitto creek near Mittie.
* From Wednesday evening until further notice... or until the warning
is cancelled.
* At 8:00 PM Saturday the stage was 5.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by Wednesday evening and continue
to rise to near 16.0 feet by Thursday morning.
* Impact... at stages near 15.0 feet... minor lowland flooding near
the creek will occur.

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of Louisiana and southeast Texas... including the
following areas... in Louisiana... Acadia... Allen... Avoyelles...
Beauregard... Calcasieu... East Cameron... Evangeline... Iberia...
Jefferson Davis... Lafayette... lower St. Martin... Rapides... St.
Landry... St. Mary... upper St. Martin... Vermilion... Vernon and
West Cameron. In southeast Texas... Hardin... Jefferson...
northern Jasper... northern Newton... Orange... southern Jasper...
   southern Newton and Tyler.

* Through Monday evening

* rainfall amounts of two to five inches is possible in the watch
area... with locally higher amounts.

* Primary impacts will be flash flooding of low lying locations
especially in urban areas with poor drainage or along low
lying rural roads. Flooding of streams... creeks and bayous can
be expected.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
