... A series of storm systems to bring strong winds... accumulating
mountain snow and colder temperatures to northern and central New
Mexico Thursday night through Saturday night...

New Mexico will be under an unsettled weather pattern from late
this week through early next week and perhaps even longer. A
series of storm systems are queued up to bring mountain snow and
valley rain and snow to the west and central Thursday night
through Saturday night. The east as well as the exposed higher
terrain can expect bouts of strong and gusty winds especially
Saturday and Saturday night. Highs will fall Friday but moreso
Saturday, starting the weekend with temperatures 5 to 15 degrees
below average.

Locales along and west of the Continental Divide are predicted to
pick up the most snow by early Sunday. A foot or more is possible
at elevations above 8000 feet in the chuska and northwest
mountains. Westerly wind gusts to around 50 or 55 mph are
possible especially Saturday and Saturday night over the exposed
higher terrain and eastern plains as surface low pressure intensifies
over Texas and Oklahoma.

A brief break in the busy weather is expected Sunday... then
another storm system looks to arrive next Monday. Plenty of wind
will again plague the east while the west and central may pick up
more snow. Much colder and considerably below average
temperatures will overspread the region.

conditions.
