* until 900 am CDT Sunday

* at 547 am CDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated
that the rainfall had ended across the warned area.

The heavy rainfall from the past week has caused area lakes... small
creeks and streams... low water crossings and low lying areas as well
as the major rivers to flood. This flooding will likely continue
into next week. Area lakes are near or over full capacity. High
releases are required and this may flood the downstream river.
Also... tributaries that feed into these reservoirs will also back up
and flood until lake levels get under control. Roads near these
lakes may be under water due to flooding from these
lakes... especially Eufaula... Wister... Sardis and Hugo.

* Runoff from this excessive rainfall will cause flooding to occur.
Some locations that could experience flooding include... Antlers...
Bentonville... Berryville... Broken Arrow... Cedarville...
Charleston... Claremore... Clayton... Eufaula... Eureka Springs...
Fayetteville... Fort Smith... Hugo... Huntsville... Jay... McAlester...
Miami... Mountainburg... Muskogee... Natural Dam... Nowata... Okemah...
Okmulgee... Ozark... Poteau... Pryor... Rogers... Sallisaw... Siloam
Springs and Springdale.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where water covers the Road to
unknown depths. It only takes two feet of rushing water to carry away
most sport utility vehicles and pickups. Take a different Route to
reach your destination or wait until the water recedes. Remember...
most flood related deaths occur in automobiles.

Low water crossings in hilly terrain are especially dangerous in
heavy rain. Do not attempt to travel across flooded roads. Find
alternate routes. It only takes a few inches of swiftly flowing water
to carry vehicles away.
